Journals Quick Start Guide

Nvcleus is a robust and user-friendly journal publishing platform that empowers publishers, editors, and researchers to streamline the entire journal publishing process. Whether you're launching a new journal or looking to modernize your existing publication, this quick start guide will walk you through the essential steps to get started with Nvcleus and maximize its powerful features for a seamless journal publishing experience.
The following steps are based on the assumption that your Nvcleus instance has been setup and starting your first manuscript process.

Step 1: Platform Admin

To begin, login into your account on Nvcleus platform using your admin credentials. You can share the URL with your team so that they can click on Register and setup their account. 
 

Step 2: Manage users

Once the users have registered into the platform, the admin can go to Settings -> Users and see the list of users in the platform. 
The admin can delete any users, make any user as an admin or a reviewer. 


Step 3: Manuscript Submission

Once your journal is set up, it's time to start accepting manuscript submissions. Configure the submission process by defining submission form with required metadata. The admin can manage their forms through Settings -> Forms as shown in the image below. 



Authors can then submit their manuscripts from their dashboard and click on "New Submission". Detailed submission flow here. 

Step 4: Assign peer reviewers

Once the author or journal manager submits the manuscript, the admin can assign the peer reviewers for the manuscript through "Manuscripts" option in the navigation bar and click on the Control for the respective manuscript as shown below.




Step 5: Peer Review

The Peer reviewers can login into their account and go through the manuscript and decide whether to accept or reject the manuscript.
Once accepted, the peer reviewer can view the whole manuscript and register their comments, reviews along with any supplementary files in the reviewer form at the bottom of the manuscript. 

Step 6: Manuscript Acceptance

Once all the peer reviewers have completed their reviews, the journal manager can accept the manuscript from the Manuscripts "Control" option as shown below. 


Step 7: Manuscript Editing and Production

After successful peer review, move on to the editing and production stage through Manuscripts -> Production. 

Step 8: Publishing 

Nvcleus provides various publishing options to suit your needs. You can  publish articles individually as they are ready. The platform generates standardized XML files for articles, making it compatible with various indexing services and databases. With Nvcleus, you can seamlessly distribute your journal content to a global audience, enhancing discoverability and impact. If you have configured the Publish with Nvcleus publishing platform, you can click on "Publish" from the Manuscripts Control option as shown below. 


Step 9: Download deliverables

You can also download different deliverables from the Manuscripts Production option. The platform offers output in the following formats. 
HTML, JATs XML, Web PDF and Print PDF.
