Welcome to Nvcleus Books, a powerful platform for collaborative book creation and publishing. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to get started with Nvcleus Books.
Step 1: Login
Begin by logging in with your username and password. If you have admin credentials provided by the Nvcleus team, use them. If not, click on the "Sign up" link to register.
Step 2: Book Dash - The Dashboard
Upon logging in, you will land on the dashboard. It will initially be empty for a new instance. The dashboard displays the list of books along with their statuses.
Dashboard Options:
a. Add Book: Start planning a book from scratch or add an existing book.
b. Show Archived: Display the list of archived books.
c. Templates: Add or configure design templates in the platform.
Step 3: Add Book
Click on "Add Book" and enter a book name in the popup.
Step 4: Plan Book
Click on "Plan Book" and then Click on "Start".
Determine the hierarchical levels for your book. Select chapters and sections for a single-part book or parts, chapters, and sections for a multi-part book. Click "Next."
Step 5: Textbook Outline
Default structure includes a chapter with a single section. Drag and drop structural parts from the right panel onto the outline section and click on Next.
Step 6: Add Pedagogical Elements
Similar to the previous step, drag and drop pedagogical elements from the right panel onto the left section.
Step 7: Review the Structure
Review the entire book structure and click on "Build Book" in the bottom right section.
Click on "Yes" to build the book.
Step 8: Edit Book Options
Click on "Edit" next to the book you created. Delete default chapters if you plan to upload DOCX files.
Step 9: Upload Word Files
Click on "Upload Word Files" under the book name. Select the book you want to upload.
Step 10: Assign Team Members
Click on "Team Manager."
Assign team members to corresponding roles in the popup.
Step 11: Default Workflow
Navigate through the default workflow stages by clicking ">" for each stage.
Step 12: Copy Editing & Production
Click on the chapter name to open the online editor.
Step 13: Styling
Use the styling options on the left panel to assign styles to elements. Select text and choose styles from the styling panel.
Step 14: Output Deliverables
Go to the book page and click on "Export Book."
For preview, select a corresponding template and click on OK. It will open the preview along with CSS editor.
For downloads, select the type of output format required and click on Ok. The output will get downloaded on your desktop.
